Where Your Story Matters

The Finding Human Project uses story, theater and play to help people deepen their understanding of themselves and each other.

Through story circles, hero’s journey story discovery, and community story telling, we help communities re-connect, combat isolation, and create safe environments for collaboration in our collective stories.

Combating Isolation, One Story at a Time

Stories connect us.

In the chaos of daily life, it's easy to feel disconnected—from ourselves, from each other, and from the communities we call home. But when we share our stories, we bridge those gaps, build understanding, and create spaces where every voice is heard.

At the Finding Human Project, we use storytelling, theater tools, and creative play to help people explore their experiences, strengthen connections, and find meaning in the narratives that shape us.

Come share your story—listen, be heard, and discover the connections waiting to be found.

Our programs are adaptable, equitable, and designed to bring people together. Through immersive workshops, performances, and interactive experiences, we foster deeper conversations, personal exploration, and stronger communities.

Let us be your guide—your story matters.

Programs

The Hero’s Journey Workshop equips community members with tools to guide participants through storytelling, self-discovery, and resilience-building. Rooted in Joseph Campbell’s narrative framework, this interactive experience helps individuals explore their own journeys, recognize personal growth, and foster deeper connections with others.

Hero’s Journey Playshop

Our workshops are designed to help prevent burnout by fostering connection, creativity, and resilience. We offer a space where individuals from all walks of life can recharge, reflect, and engage with others in meaningful ways. These are perfect for non-profits and educators who face fatigue in their daily work.

Workshops

Humans have gathered for story sharing as long as we’ve been … well… humans. Story circles create a safe environment to share and discover stories. Story circles are tailored in many ways; from helping high-burn out occupations to commercial applications.

Story Circles

Our fully devised theater projects like “Hope in River City” offer a way for a community to tell their stories. Created by the community for the community, these pieces resonate and help amplify the often untold stories of each other.

Isolation poses mental, emotional, and physical risks for humans. It leads to loneliness, depression, anxiety, and cognitive decline. Social isolation is linked to physical ailments and higher mortality rates. Human connection provides support, stimulation, and a sense of belonging essential for our health and happiness.

Guiding grown-ups as they reengage with play, curiosity, and creativity provide opportunities to shake off the isolation that constantly tries to work its way in.

We believe stories make us human. From stories that squeak to stories that roar, each person and community has a story that ties us together.

Finding Human Project firmly believes in cultivating safe and collaborative spaces for all.

Our core beliefs are:

  • Compassion is our cornerstone

  • Play belongs to people of all ages

  • Curiosity is a human right
